Features and stuff...

My, my... time passes by quickly - yet again.

First, I would like to thank Kenshins-Soul - again - for featuring me and my works on Niko and Aaron in her journal. (Check it out, there are other great features in it too!) Been some time from the last feature - back then my lady vampire got featured.

Second, things are going well at the school. Another practical training starts on next week. (So fast, I know. The previous practical training barely ended. Heh!) This time, I will be working at the middle school, in a seventh and eight grade class. Yes, two different grades in one room, 10 boys and no girls. The class teacher is a lady and there are also two assistants besides me.

Oooh boy, let's just see how will this turn out.

Third, arts... arts... arts. Hmm, been sketching some, but haven't scanned them yet - or finished the WIPs. This is bad, I know. I've been unable to focus on them lately. Hopefully I get something done!

Only time tells... *sighs*

Also bad news about the explicit/smut yaoi-works: my yaoi-muse is still gone missing. He's on the run... somewhere.

Feeling happy - Captain Jack Harkness
Finally I get to post here the latest news on my daily days. (LJ have been acting all strange and I've been in a course this week...)

*ahem*

Anyway, on Tuesday evening, I received a phonecall from Lahden kansanopisto (Lahti's adult education centre) about the school assistant education... and...

I GOT IN!! :D

I finally get to study for a year of the career I have wanted to study for long time! I got some job experiences of being a school assistant but not having a degree... so I thought about getting one.

Now I got the chance! ;D

The school starts on Monday, August the 15th. That soon, yes I know!

Spring is here!

Been a while, huh? I've been busy with moving to my apartment and the work at Charlotta Oy. Now, things are finally settling down and I can sigh in relief. ^__^

I've been living in my apartment for a bit more than two weeks now and I love it! ♥ I almost got all my stuffs here - still need to bring the remaining books and notes from my parents' place. Only thing I'm missing (completely) is the printer/scanner/copier. ^^; My dad, now, officially owns the old one and so I'm gonna buy myself a new one. So, no more new arts until then - only the ones that are *still* unfinished! *lol*

I don't have to worry about getting cold on chilly days and nights in wintertime. Only thing I *am* worrying about is the summer and the heat waves it brings. It's so warm in the apartment already!! (Even if the heaters are shut.) I swear, this place is gonna be a sauna during the summertime... XP (That only means, I going to swim more in this...)

Well then, now is Easter holidays. I'm gonna kick back and relax. And, might finish a pic or two that are already scanned weeks/months ago. ;P

HAPPY EASTER HOLIDAYS, PEOPLE! :D

Busy life and...

Argh! - Rogue (Anna-Marie)
Haven't update here for a while. ^^; I've been busy with the courses I've signed into. And now, I'm job-in-training at the place called Charlotta Oy, where they sell handicraft materials. Mostly it's placing the stuff in their rightful places, packing and put the prices on them. But sometimes I get to make samples or fixing stuff. ;)

I will be there until May the 6th. Then it's back to the course for two days and I'm free from it. Though I have been thinking about signing into more courses... If, and *major* if, the workers at Charlotta consider to take me in for the summer. I'm planning to ask them, if they are willing to take summer-job workers... ^^; But, I'm gonna ask about it on next month.

Speaking of summer-jobs, I have been sending summer-job applications as well. Have to wait for the answers, though. Also I'm sending applications for further studies - I'm hoping to get to study for school assistant. ^^

Now, the *big* news! I'M MOVING TO MY OWN APARTMENT - AT LAST!! For years, my parents have been supporting me and agreed to help me out, by letting me live with them for as long as I could. I've been looking for apartment for a year or so... no luck, until now. *Now* I got myself apartment! =D It's a tenement, of course. (I can't afford for my own apartment yet... TT_TT ) I got enough savings to pay the rents (and bills) plus there's always the Social Insurance Institution. X3 *sighs*

But, yay~! I get to move to own apartment~! Also away from the remodelling that's coming to my parent's place! XDD I hope my parents manage to sell the place before the remodelling happens in the apartment house. It happens in all the apartment houses around us. XP

I get to move to my new home on next week - starting on April fools' day! XDD (No, this is not a joke! I get to move there on *that* day!)

*lol*

New year, new plans?

Shy - Toshiko Sato
Christmas and New Year Eve came and went. And I enjoyed the both of them. ^__^ Christmas I spent with my family and the New Year Eve with my friends. On New Year Eve we went to ice-skating, sliding down on the hills, sauna and then went to watch the fireworks. Also watched couple of movies.

Even so, the New Year has started peacefully. But still no job for me. X3 I was on a job interview for teacher's assistant, but didn't get it. Damn, so close. Anyway, I can't let that bring me down and so, I signed up for short-time courses - again. Last week, I was on a handicraft course, which only lasted three days. TwT I made a Phoenix-statue-alike-doll - sort of. (I wanna make a better one of it!!)

This week, I'm at a wireless network's basic and data security-course. =_= *Very* interesting, indeed. This whole day was nothing but theories... XP I think I stopped listening at one point. More than once. (The teacher is the same one, who taught me WWW-programmings on last November.) Then again, the teacher did say that the beginning is just theories and then we will go to the *real* deal. >D I learn more by doing stuff, but just by listening.

Next week, I will be at the framing's basics-course. You know, making frames for arts and/or pictures...? Yup! I get to learn doing that! =D

I'm still waiting answers from three other courses. I do hope I get into them. ^^

I do have plans for this year, besides going on courses. I'm going to send applications for schools. Yes, I have decided to study more... But I still have to decide (for sure) what to study? Teacher's assistant? Arts? Handicrafts? *sighs* Decisions, decisions...

Also, I'm open for small commissions. (Stay tuned on that.)

Merry Christmas!!

It's Christmas Eve in Finland! And it's white, cold Christmas this time!! The sceneries here are so beautiful and white!! (And freezing.) After many years, this is a perfect, snowy Christmas.

I had great time this month, been on a cruise with Zardra, having fun with my friends and managed to relax this time of year. Imagine that. This is one of busiest times of the year and I don't feel too stress out. =D Woot!

I have drawn a Christmas pic, but can't submit it here. So, you will have to go to devART to see it. ;)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! ♥ ♥

Half-way of Octomber

Seriously? - Ianto Jones
It's rainy, dark, cold but sometimes sunny here. Oh yeah, typical Finnish autumn. XP It have snowed here as well. But the snow didn't last long. Still, I like the refreshing air of autumn. ^^

Haven't done much since the last time I wrote the entry here. Still unemployed and looking. However, now, I do have something good to share.

At the beginning of this month, I signed into a WWW-programming course, which is a short course and only lasts for five days. Today, I received a letter that they have accepted me to the course! YAY!! I get to study more of creating websites, using css-codings and making PHP-pages! =D The course begins on November the 1st and it doesn't cost an Euro! The course is organized by employment agency, for long-time unemployed people.

After receiving the acceptance letter, I signed into the same course's extension course. XD Now I have wait and see, if I get to *that* one as well! ^__^

Yesterday, I had good time with my friends, at the restaurant Santa Fé.

On upcoming Saturday, I'm going to the house-warming-party. ^^

Oh, the next month is special as well: I'm going to Adam Lambert-concert with [info]zardramist and C!! Yaaaay! =D =D =D

Ikea + my b-day

Shy - Toshiko Sato
I mentioned about the trip on Friday. Well, I went with PenPen and [info]zardramist to Ikea, which was my first time to go there. ^^

I wished we had more time to go there. Because Zardra's school and other plans PenPen had, we didn't have enough time to explore the place closely. Well, some other time then. Still, I was glad to got the chance to go there! ^__^ I bought few things from. When I say "few", I mean it! Bought stuff under 20 €! XD

Yesterday, was my b-day. Now one more year added into my age! *lol* I had a nice time yesterday. No, I didn't have any parties. I don't like them - especially when the age number isn't so special. ^^; Anyway, I spent the day with Zardra: went to Paavo's little book store and bought two of Wendy Pini's Elfquest-comic books - "The Searcher and the Sword" and "The Discovery"! (Zardra bought the other one for me. Again, thank you, hun~! ♥) Zardra also got herself Luis Royo's book. ^^ After that, we went to Roberts Coffee and then we watched "The Karate Kid" (2010) movie. Again. XD (Now I miss the original Karate Kid... X3 )

Now, I just kick back and relax. Maybe draw some sketches, working on "Crimson Ninja"-site's new look, read or watch something. Why not a little bit all of that. ;3

Oh my, haven't been writing here for some time now. ^^; It's autumn already!

And my birthday is in two days. o_o One more year to add into my age. X3

Oh well.

I have been going and doing stuff and tried to draw more. Frankly, whenever I start drawing/colouring, I get stuck. Another artist's block...? Nah, it's more like, some other stuffs got my interest and I'm working on them. Meh.

And here's what I have been up to: I'm redesigning my website. =D Making a new look for "Crimson Ninja"! Now I got the pages working. All I have to do is draw new pics for the pages and find the good colouring for the texts and background. I'm still trying to find the good colouring...

Tomorrow, I'm off to a little trip with my friends. I will tell you about it after the trip. ;)

Last day @ Helsinki

  • Jul. 22nd, 2010 at 10:00 PM
Feeling relaxed - 10th Doctor and Rose T
Yup. I'm back from Helsinki!

Three weeks I have been in Helsinki and I had great time. The weather all this time have been wonderful! =D (Well, maybe too hot for my liking. But at least on some nights, it rained.) The first week here was mostly getting used to the big city. Just walking around, looking at the different stores and shops, shopping... and met Myunfelia after her interview here. XD On the weekend, I went to Linnanmäki (an amusement park) to meet Dinogomonni and her friends. ^__^ I didn't go to any equipments there, still, it was nice to be there and watching other people scream in excitement/horror. XD

Second week, again, it was more walking around in the city. Also got couple of visitors here as well: Dino (again) and Zardra! Dino came on Tuesday (July the 13th) for a day. We talked a lot, went to shopping, visited at the comic stores, Blippo, Kukunor (finally found that place), ate sushi at Ichiban Sushi, met a friend of ours and went to see the latest "Predators" movie. Let me say that I enjoyed watching the movie and the movie's ending song was hilarious! XD XD I sure had great time with Dino.

Zardra came here on Thursday (July the 15th) and stayed here until Saturday. We went to shop and after that, we went to the Finnish Museum of Natural History on Thursday. While going to the museum, suddenly, it started rain - a lot! Once we got to the museum, we were soaked completely. Good thing that we went to the shopping and I had my umbrella with me. I didn't get so wet like Zardra did. But she had her new clothes with her, so she changed into those at the ladies' bathroom. ^^

On Friday (July the 16th), we went to Suomenlinna. We took lot of photos there! The weather was really nice and warm. And the cool sea wind helped a lot if it got too hot. Then again, we didn't noticed how hot the sun was, until we got to my sister's apartment and noticed our sunburned skins. X3 My shoulders and part of my back got sunburned! (Yes, I put the sun lotion on.) Zardra had her front sunburned. After taking care of our sunburned skins, we went to out to the city for a while and came back with ice-creams and relaxed nearby my sister's apartment. Saturday was more like relaxing day for us. We walked around in the city and went to Kukunor to buy Adam Lambert-poster for Zardra. (She was so happy to get it...) We bought take-away sushi and went to the park to sit. Just, enjoying peaceful and sunny day.

Thank you for visiting there~! I had fun with you~! ♥

So there you have it. My weeks here in Helsinki. This week, I have been walking around for the last time and cleaning up the apartment. Oh yeah, yesterday, I went to listen Pink's concert at Kaisaniemi's park. :D I didn't have a ticket to see her performance closely, but I could hear her singing from the park nearby the concert area. So it was enough for me. And I did managed to see her from one of big screens! ^o^/ (I got quite good photos of her from the screen.)

I could've stayed here until Sunday, but nah. I think this is enough of Helsinki for me - for now.

First day @ Helsinki

Feeling happy - Captain Jack Harkness
Well, here I am. Sitting by my laptop, watching "Lie to Me" from TV. ^^; (Just finished watching "The Wolfman". It was okay. =/ ) I didn't do anything interesting today. Only settled down, bought food for a week and getting known of my sister's apartment. I still love it here~! The view is awesome and it's quite cool inside when it's hot outside. Erm, maybe too cool. *takes out the blanket*

Tomorrow, I will go to the shops and stores. Just to see what's in them. If I do find something nice, of course I will buy it. Maybe I will eat outside too. ;P

Oh yeah, I got some unfinished arts in my laptop - which I will work on if I don't have anything else to do. Also that I will draw more, if I'm inspired enough. Alas, there's no scanner here. u_u; So, I can't scan them. Once I get back home, I will.

And... I also noticed that my digital camera's wire was left at home. D'oh! >_<

*sighs* I will upload the photos once I get home. =_=

Oh well. Minor setbacks, which I will ignore. I just gonna relax and enjoy my time here. :D

Copy cats in the world of manhwa

  • Jun. 17th, 2010 at 9:26 PM
Meaning business - Captain Jack Harkness
Out of curiosity, I began to read a manhwa called "Love SOS". The beginning seemed interesting, but then the interest stopped when I noticed few familiar looking scenes and poses the characters were in.

This manhwa artist has *clearly* read the manga called "MARS" by Fuyumi Souryou and copied the sceneries and poses from the manga!! ARGH!! She's a copy cat! Oh sure, most of the scenes and pages are drawn by herself, but there are some scenes that are directly copied from the manga!

That, I find, quite annoying. MARS is a beautiful and amazing story - and at some point, sad, when you read it further. The fact of life, I would say about it. Shoujou manga, with a captive story. Not to mention, the characters are well drawn and interesting.

And then comes this manhwa artist, who have copied some of Fuyumi's arts into her story. DX

Once I have time and rested enough, I can show what panels / pages the manhwa artist have copied from Fuyumi's MARS.

What to think...

Hmm, I honestly don't know what to think about DA. I love being here and visiting and all, but after a note I got from my friend there, have made me wonder - more than ever.

All of you, who are members at DA, know how the mods likes to change the rules - a lot. Which causes more headaches than loud musics. Right? (They sure causes me headaches.)

Well, as I mentioned, my friend sent me a note, warning about writing links that leads to the outside of DA. Links such as y!gal, FF.net and so on. Apparently, the mods have banned a person for adding links to show where her (deleted) stuffs are. And for adding links that they don't approve at all.

My friend gave me a link to her friend's journal entry, which leaded to the banned person's blog, who is explaining what happened. Here's the link to it.

Makes me wonder this whole situation... u_u I know what direct links to adult themed sites are not allowed. (I have deleted all the links to y!gal and AFF.net now.) From what I read from her friend's journal's entry comments, it seems like that I might not be able to put links that leads to FF.net. O_o

That can't be the case. This is so ridiculous!

*mumbles*

Movies, trips, weird (spring) weathers...

  • Apr. 23rd, 2010 at 7:05 PM
How yah doing? - Jubilee
This week the weather has been either sunny, cold, rainy or snowy - well, today it has been snowing here. Again. O_o (Nooooo! Snow, go away already!!)

Last week was pretty much the same, except it was more sunny and cloudy days. And yes, it rained and it was cold too. (Weird spring...)

Anyway, last week was a good week too. ^^ Got to see movies, which I wanted to see. On last Tuesday, I went to see "Clash of the Titans" 3D with [info]zardramist. It was good and entertaining - and the story was *way* better than the "original" myth. Hey, myths changes... and for once I'm glad that Hollywood didn't go *by* the "book". Honestly, if they had, then I would've laughed hard to see Sam Worthington flying around wearing the helmet and sandals with wings. XDD (In myth, Perseus wore those, when he went to rescue Andromeda... =3 )

Also, I *really* liked the black Pegasos in the movie... *o* Soooo cool~! And the other characters were really cool too.

After the movie, I went to Z's place for the night. It was pretty late, not to mention I had to go to work the next morning... so it was better for me to stay at her place than go to home. (I could sleep a bit more...)

Few days later, after the work, again I went to Z's place - for the weekend. XDD We had a special, girls' weekend, which we planned for weeks. On Friday, once we got to her place, we just were at her place, hanging around until it was time for sauna at her mom's place. (Omg, our sauna talks... XDD ) After the sauna, we went to her place again, ate something for snack and then watched the Swedish movie "The girl who played with fire" (Flickan som lekte med elden). We went early to sleep after the movie 'cause our trip to Helsinki was waiting for us the next morning. >D

And so, on Saturday, we woke up pretty early to a sunny day, to get ready for our trip. But then we kinda had to rush to the train station... X3 Good thing we bought those tickets on Friday.

Once we arrived to Helsinki, we went to our usual place first - Fantasiapelit (Fantasy Games). XD Ah, our favourite manga, book and games store. ♥ After that, we went to Puolenkuun pelit (Half-moon Games), which was right next to Fantasiapelit. The salesman there is so awesome there. Friendly. ^^ And a huuuuuge Star Wars fan. Gah, if only I had enough money to buy some cool Star Wars stuffs from there... *__*

After those two stores, we went to Morticia, Cybershop, Back Street, Blippo and went to eat at Ichiban-Sushi for lunch. (Our favourite place.) Then, went to see my sister, who happens to live right at the central of Helsinki. I like where she lives nowadays, but dammit, why didn't that building have a elevator?! ><;; She lives at the top floor... was it 5th or 6th floor? @_@ But, I like her apartment. Much bigger than her last apartments in Helsinki. ^^

Once visiting at my sister's place and resting for a while, we went to Tennispalatsi (Tennis Palace) to see the movie: "How to Train Your Dragon" 3D. Let me tell you: IT WAS WORTH TO WATCH!!! ♥ ♥ I love the movie!! It was so sweet, great, awesome... and , and... I don't any other words to describe it!! XDD I loved it! The musics, the characters... the dragons!! Especially Toothless!! He was so adorable!! ♥ ♥ And the friendship between Hiccup and Toothless was touching... D'awwwww~!

When the movie ended, both of us were so hyper and going nuts about the movie! And again, we ran to the train station in a rain. XDD And managed to get into our train in time, all hyper and hysterical about the movie. That movie really touched us both!

Once we got to Lahti and to Z's apartment, I began to sketch about Toothless and Hiccup, while we were watching "Fame". ^^ (I need to scan them...) All the walking, running and being hyper the all day, finally took a toll and we were really tired.

On Sunday, I went back home. However, before I reached to my bus stop, a guy came to me, asking if he could borrow my cell phone. ('Cause his own doesn't work.) o_o Yeaaaah, riiiight... nice try. I told him that I didn't have a cell phone with me this time. (Luckily, I had my phone in silent mode...) The guy looked suspicious and he moved like he's been out drinking the whole night. u_u;

Hm.

That's what has been happening to me last week. This week is pretty much the same old working week. Wake up early in the morning, go to work, be with kids, then go home, rest a while and then work on selling materials at home. Plus working for the manga art course, which I will have at the main library on Wednesday. Me, teaching how to draw in manga style... again. ^^; This one will be a *way* shorter version than the previous one. Oh boy.

Well, there you have it. ^^ On next week, it's vappu (May Day) - need to put my graduation hat on and go to the city then. I hope the weather is fine by then. ^^;

More funny moments at work

Hehehehee~! XDD

First, this week, there's almost enough adults as there are children. (11 teachers and about 17-21 kids.)

Second... well, the funny moments:

During the 2nd group's lunch
Twin girl#1: More sausages, please. (<- haven't ate her potatoes yet.)
(Teacher #1 gives her more.)
Twin girl#2: More potatoes, please. (<- haven't ate her sausages yet!)
Teacher#1: *laughs* I think we should've given them just one plate, where the other will eat all the potatoes and the other all the sausages.

During the snack time
Boy#1 talking with another boy: When we grow up, can we be a couple? (<- Err... what he really meant was, to hold hands in a line as friends. ^^;;; )

Spring... <3

In thoughts - Toshiko Sato
Now it feels like a spring outside. ^__^ Sun is shining (just a bit behind the clouds) and the weather feels a bit warmer. (Though not warm enough yet.) Yaaay~! Spring! ♥

Yesterday was a fun day... and very sunny day. I got to enjoy the warming sunlight, wearing my new spring jacket. Got to see my friends, had fun with them... ♥

Boy, time sure passes by when you're working at the kindergarten. So fast that I realized that I need to work on my projects for the art valley at Desucon - as in right away!! OAO Gaaaah!! Two months!! Only two months!!

I'm working on different chibi-magnets, new prints, bookmarks and *maybe* some keychains of my own. ^^ Maybe, I dunno. Let's see about those. Also working on a t-shirt of my own. =D

Also, I need to start making my cosplay-outfit. This year, I'm gonna cosplay Jin from "Samurai Champloo". ^^ I just need to buy the fabrics and a black dye for the hair that only lasts temporarily. (No way I'm gonna keep the colour. I like my hair colour, thank you very much.)

Nonetheless, I can't wait for the con! Eee~! Desu, Desu, Desucooon~! ♥

Other news:
Next week at work, there will be lots of adults working there (which is kinda relief for me). Now, in the junior group, there are about 21 kids, 6 teachers and 3 trainees. (Two of teachers are only there in the mornings, then they leave to the other side of the building.) We got to know that two more trainees are coming to our side, which makes 6 teachers and 5 trainees. OAO Whoa! 11 adults! Er, well, actually 10 adults and one teenager... the teenager is a 8th grader and it's her job training week. ^^;

Well... At least there will be lot of adults watching over the kids, so I can stay indoors while they are out and work on b-day cards and other handicrafts they asked me to do for them. ^^;

Heh.

Boy, next week is gonna be an interesting one. Let's see how the things work out at the job. ;P

Amusing moments at work

  • Mar. 19th, 2010 at 6:41 PM
In thoughts - Toshiko Sato
Okay. I wanna write some amusing things here that I heard at the work from kids' mouth. XD Oh yeah, to explain one thing: the juniors are in two tiny groups called "Pixies" and "Genies". Why? It will be a lot easier for the teachers to have morning lessons with the kids in tiny groups than in one big group. After all, they are about 3-5 year-old kids. ^^;

Anyway, here are some amusing/cute things they have said. They talked in Finnish, so I'm gonna translate them into English:

Boys:
Boy#1: When I grow up, I'm gonna make my own Pelicans-team (note: local ice-hockey team), and, and.. there will be three players only in the field!
Boy#2: I'm gonna too! Only I will have 1 player playing!
(Niceeeee....)

Twin girls arrive to kindergarten:
Girl#1: *sees me next the door* MARITA!!
Me: Hmm...
Girl#2: No! It's *Maarit*!
(*lol* Yeah, one of the kids says my name wrong (still). But I forgive her. ^^; )

Cleaning up all the toys:
Teacher#1: All the Juniors, it's toys away! And then we go to music room. All of you!
Me: *went to one of boys* ****, it's time to clean up. Put the toys away. Everyone is going.
Boy#3: Wha?
Me: Put those toys away. Everyone is going.
Boy#3: Pixies?
Me: No... *everyone*.
Boy#3: Genies?
Me: No, ****. *All* of you.
Boy#3: One? Two are going?
Me: *tried not to laugh* Just, put these cars away and then go to the line.
Boy#3: *left with the cars*

Random moments:
Boy#1: I like you~! *hugged my hand*
Me: Why, thank you, *****.

Girl#3: Maarit, what did you do to your hair?
Me: Nothing. I just let my ponytail loose.
Girl#3: Your hair is long! *looks up, admiring my hair*
Me: Thank you.

Me: *listened to one of boys' "sport-announcer-moments"* Yup... he's gonna be a good announcer in live ice-hockey games or in sports in general.
Teacher#2: He seems to have a talent for it, yes.
Boy#2: And then Finland takes the lead and, and Sweden is left behind! FINLAND WINS!!

......

And there were times, when their innocent words did *not* sound so innocent. *cough*

Today, I'm off to [info]zardramist's b-day party at Messilä this weekend! Actually, her b-day was last weekend, but we couldn't reserve a cabin for that weekend. So, she decided to have the party this weekend - on Valentine weekend. Hee~!

Anyway, her party's theme is... "Moulin Rouge". No, I am *not* going to dress up as "cancan"-girls... XDD Heavens forbid me, if I do. ;P Nah, I'm gonna dress up something that resembles like Moulin Rouge.

This is the 2nd b-day party I'm going to. It would have been 3rd, but my throat was sore and I was coughing too much on that day, so I was unable to go there. (*sighs* winter...) Last weekend, I was at my godmother's 60th b-day party. Drew her a pic of my lady vampire Kurobara. She happen to be my godmother's favourite character. ^^ And my godmother loved the pic. ♥

Speaking of pics: ah, I forgot the Valentine's Day pic... again. Oops. ^^; I have been so focused on work and planning/sketching out a b-day gift for certain someone *points at the topic* (which is not done yet), I forgot about the Valentine's Day pic. Gaah. Forgive me? ^///^

*sighs* Sometimes, I just can't remember to have everything done in time while working on something else... u_u;;

And so, I thought to do this:

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, EVERYONE!! ♥ ♥

First working week behind

Like the title says: first working week at English play school is behind. I mostly got to known of the place and got to known of the people working there and of course, the children. Little by little, I get to know them by their names...

There are two section at the play school: juniors (3-5-year-olds) and seniors (5-7-year-olds). All the workers there talk in English when they are with the children. Most of the children talks in Finnish and some adds English words while talking. Most of the children understands English, while some doesn't. We have to use simple words and show them what the word means.

I'm working at the junior section. With the little ones! They were shy at first when they saw me, but after going to ice-skating with them on Tuesday, the shyness started to go away. Little by little. By the end of the week, children came to me to talk and wanting to play with me.

Oh, I'm being called "teacher" there... How weird does that make me feel! XD (I graduated as Youth and Leisure instructor. ;P )

As a trainee, my main job there - besides being with the children - is to clean up the messes and organize the stuffs to their rightful places after the kids are done with playing. Help the kids to dress up when we're going out and put their clothes to their own shelves. Also their works, such as paintings and crafts...

That reminds me, on Friday, while I was placing some of the kids' finished paintings to their shelves, one boy looked at me all upset, asking: "where was his painting?" On previous week, he did a painting with one of teachers there, so I had no clue about his painting. I took his hand and when to look for the painting, only to find out that the painting isn't done yet and that he had to wait for next week. He became more upset, until we told him, he could do another painting, which he could take home on the same day. His face just brightened up when he heard that. ^__^

Lots of funny things happened on Friday, especially the kids' talks... such innocence of a child. XDD Let's just say that the "kids says the darnest things". ;P *lol* But you just can't correct some of their talks because they don't understand completely what you are trying to explain. Still, we do have to stop them from calling others by mean names and if there is argument, then that too has to be stopped. Gently.

I'm working there 5 days a week, 7 hours a day. Well, actually, it should be 7,5 hours... but they gave me the half an hour lunch break, which is not counted into the working hours. So, it's 7 hours for me. I got to be there by 8.30 am and I will leave at 4.00 pm from there. Hoo.. I got early wake-up calls. I'm need at least an hour to wake up, eat something and get ready for the day. =_= At least I can sleep late on weekends. XD

As for how long I will be there: only for a month for now. Just before the month is over, we will talk again if or if not I want to continue working there. We will see.
